About
This site is a set of calculators for home projects. You enter measurements and get the amount of material to buy, in the units it is sold in: bags, cubic yards or tons.
How the calculators work
Everything is calculated in your browser, the moment you type. Nothing you enter is sent to us. Each calculator shows its working under the result, line by line, so you can check the arithmetic yourself.
Where the numbers come from
Geometry needs no source. A reference value does: how much concrete a bag makes, how much a cubic yard of gravel weighs, how big a bag of mulch is.
- A reference value is offered only when two sources publish it. If we found one source, or none, the option is left out.
- Where two sources give different figures, the page shows both, says which value it uses, and lets you replace it.
- A starting value for waste is not a reference value. Each one says what it rests on, and you are expected to change it.
The methodology page lists every formula, every value and every source. It is generated from the same records the calculators read.
What the site does not do
Results are estimates. They do not replace a professional calculation, and they say nothing about what your building code requires. See the disclaimer.
The site has no accounts, sets no cookies and runs no advertising. Visits are counted without cookies. See the privacy page.
Who runs it
The site is run by Alim Khairetdinov, an independent developer.
